Cheese prices in Kazakhstan remain the highest among the EAEU countries
For comparison, in Russia the price for a kilogram of cheese is about 4.2 thousand tenge, in Kyrgyzstan — 3.5 thousand tenge, in Belarus — 3.3 thousand tenge, and in Armenia — 3 thousand tenge.
Food inflation in Kazakhstan was 6.3%, which is second only to Russia and Belarus. However, despite the rise in prices, Kazakhstan continues to occupy a leading position in terms of the cost of basic foodstuffs among the EAEU countries.
In Kyrgyzstan, the level of food inflation was 2.3%. In Armenia, a decrease of 2.3% was also noted.
As for inflation, in January-August of this year it was 7.9% in all countries of the Union. For comparison, last year this figure was 6.8% for the same period. At the same time, the highest inflation rate was recorded in Kazakhstan — 8.8%. A similar situation is in Russia, where prices increased by 8.2% over the year. Belarus follows — 5.7% and Kyrgyzstan — 4.8%. Deflation has occurred in Armenia. The cost of goods and services there has decreased by 0.1%.
