Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Thailand in 2023 amounted to $367 million

During a meeting between the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aidarbek Saparov, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Jakkapong Sangmani, the head of the Kazakh department, said that cooperation with Thailand in the field of agriculture is a promising and mutually beneficial area.

Trade turnover of agricultural products in 2023 between Kazakhstan and Thailand amounted to $10.8 million, and compared to last year it became 30% less (in 2022 – $15.4 million).
Aidarbek Saparov proposed increasing the volume of sales of agricultural products between Kazakhstan and Thailand. According to the minister, the presence of pastures with an area of 180 million hectares, own feed and access to transhumance livestock farming ensures the production of Kazakhstani meat products, including those in accordance with halal requirements.
“Kazakhstan has potential in the production and export of high-quality agricultural products. We are ready to find partners for the export of meat and grain, and you yourself can confirm their high quality. We are also ready to prepare a memorandum of cooperation and discuss all the details,” the Kazakh minister.
Jakkapong Sangmani noted that Thailand is ready to cooperate and is in a good position to increase investment. He added that the secret party is negotiating with the European Union to ensure open trade opportunities and requests for support in this matter. Aidarbek Saparov instructed the secret delegation to determine the list of products that need to be supported and provided assistance from foreign colleagues, the press service reported.
