The Solitary Path to Sustaining Dairy Production: Boosting External Demand

The dairy industry in Argentina's Santa Fe province is at a crossroads, as identified by Carlos De Lorenzi, the Director of Dairy Production. He has highlighted that the single way to maintain and increase the number of dairy farms is through robust external demand. The recent removal of export taxes has been pivotal in enhancing the prospects for the local dairy industry, opening broader market access, and consequently improving profitability for producers.
De Lorenzi emphasized the existing international demand; however, Argentina faces the challenge of becoming competitive enough to capitalize on it. He stressed that an open-door policy towards international trade is essential to ensure the future prosperity of both local producers and the dairy value chain in the province.
