The import of dairy products to Kazakhstan increased by 12.6% in 2023 to 188 thousand tons
The import of dairy products to Kazakhstan increased by 12.6%, to 188.6 thousand tons. Deliveries cost Kazakhstan $368.6 million.
Cheeses and cottage cheese from abroad were in demand in the Kazakh market - 55.2 thousand tons (+1.5 times). These products were imported from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Lithuania and Italy.
The supply of yogurt, kefir and other fermented milk products increased by 6.6%, to 45 thousand tons. Importers are Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Belarus.
Also, foreign milk and cream were popular among Kazakhstanis – 31.7 thousand tons (+20.7%). They were brought from France, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Italy and Poland.
Imports of butter and milk pastes also increased by 12.5%, to 8.9 thousand tons. These products were supplied by Belarus, Ukraine, France, Iran and Argentina
Imports of condensed milk and powdered milk decreased by 16.8% (36.1 thousand tons). In Belarus, 26.3% less of these dairy products were purchased – 14 thousand tons, in Russia – 5.5% less, 16.6 thousand tons.
