Tajikistan Opens New Dairy Processing Facility in Khatlon Region
A new dairy production facility named 'Asri Vahdat' has commenced operations in Munk settlement of Khovaling district, located in Tajikistan's Khatlon region. This development was officially announced by the press service of the President of Tajikistan.
On June 20, the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, inaugurated the facility during his visit to the Khovaling district. The 'Asri Vahdat' facility is designed to produce over 10 types of dairy products, including kaymak, cottage cheese, kefir, yogurt, cheese, and butter.
The facility is equipped with processing and storage tanks with capacities ranging from 1 to 10 tonnes, and it has a production capacity of 30 tonnes of dairy products per month, potentially reaching up to 360 tonnes annually. Following the inauguration, 20 local residents were employed on a permanent basis at the facility.
The dairy products under the 'Asri Vahdat' brand are distributed in domestic markets in various packaging formats. The raw materials for production are sourced from the entrepreneur's own livestock farm, with plans to collaborate with local residents to ensure a consistent milk supply. All incoming products undergo laboratory testing in line with quality and safety standards before processing.
This initiative is seen as a move to bolster local food production and enhance the role of small and medium-sized enterprises in Tajikistan's agricultural sector. The project is expected to contribute to the creation of new jobs, the development of local processing capacity, and the formation of a more stable supply chain through the use of locally sourced raw materials.
