SuanNutra to Acquire Natural Food Ingredients Businesses from IFF
Spanish company SuanNutra has signed an agreement to acquire a portfolio of natural ingredients businesses from international company IFF. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals, DairyNews.today reports, citing SuanNutra’s press service.
The parties did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement, the list of businesses being acquired or their performance indicators. Once the transaction is completed, the assets will be combined with SuanNutra’s existing business.
The portfolio being acquired includes plant-derived ingredients, fermented vitamins and minerals, natural colors, antioxidants and flavors. Such components are used in the production of food, nutraceuticals and functional products, including certain categories of dairy beverages, yogurt, desserts and ice cream.
The combined group’s manufacturing footprint will include botanical extraction facilities in Spain, Slovenia and Peru, as well as fermentation facilities in the United States. The group will employ approximately 700 people and plans to serve more than 1,200 customers across 60 countries.
According to SuanNutra Group CEO Anthony Weston, the combination will enable the company to expand its ingredient portfolio and in-house manufacturing capabilities. The company also intends to continue investing in research, product development and commercial growth.
SuanNutra’s Non-Executive Chairman Yoni Glickman noted the growing demand for ingredients with scientifically supported properties, as well as the food industry’s shift from synthetic colors, preservatives and flavors toward natural solutions and products with more transparent ingredient lists.
SuanNutra is a portfolio company of Carbyne Equity Partners. HSF Kramer acted as legal counsel to SuanNutra and Carbyne in connection with the agreement, while EY served as financial advisor.
