Starbucks Introduces Protein Milk Option in Brazil
Starbucks in Brazil is now offering a protein milk alternative for an additional R$ 9.90, allowing customers to replace traditional milk in any milk-based beverage on the menu. The protein content of these drinks can exceed 19 grams, depending on the recipe. This initiative is part of Starbucks' broader strategy to offer personalized customer experiences.
Filipe Reis, Head of Marketing for Starbucks in Brazil, stated that this decision is in response to a noticeable shift in consumer behavior, with a growing emphasis on protein in daily diets. He noted that the introduction of protein milk enhances Starbucks' protein platform in Brazil, demonstrating the company's commitment to evolving its portfolio in line with market trends.
The inclusion of protein milk in Starbucks' menu is indicative of a broader industry trend towards functional ingredients and high-protein products. This trend caters to consumers who prioritize convenience, personalization, and nutritional value. As protein-rich beverages move beyond the realm of sports nutrition, they are becoming more prevalent in everyday consumption at cafes and other food establishments.
This shift reflects a broader appeal for protein that is extending into various daily consumer categories, signaling a significant change in how consumers perceive and consume protein-enhanced products.
