Despite global challenges, Parmigiano Reggiano reports record turnover and a significant growth in export markets.

The Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium reported a record turnover of €3.2 billion in 2024, marking a 4.9% increase from €3.05 billion in 2023. Despite geopolitical challenges and market uncertainties, total sales volumes rose by 9.2%, with a strong domestic performance (+5.2%) and even stronger export growth (+13.7%). Key international markets like the US, France, Germany, the UK, and Canada witnessed robust growth.
The Consortium president, Nicola Bertinelli, emphasized the importance of investing in international markets as exports near half of total sales. He stressed on engaging in diplomatic dialogues to tackle increasing tariffs, especially in the US, highlighting the cheese not just as a product, but a lifestyle. The production, remaining stable with a slight increase of 1.62%, reflects a resilient demand amid an expansive global market strategy.
