Solina Expands US Presence with Epicurean Butter Acquisition
Global ingredient solutions provider Solina has completed the acquisition of Epicurean Butter, a Denver-based company known for its flavoured compound butters. This strategic move aims to strengthen Solina's presence in the US market, particularly in dairy-based flavour innovation.
Epicurean Butter specializes in creating flavoured compound butters and customized dairy-based flavour solutions, catering to food manufacturers, foodservice operators, and retailers. The acquisition is a significant step for Solina as it enhances its portfolio by integrating expertise in dairy innovation, flavour development, and agile product innovation.
Michael Marks, regional CEO of Solina USA, stated that Epicurean's culinary creativity and technical expertise are vital additions to Solina's capabilities. This acquisition is expected to expand Solina's culinary innovation platform by combining Epicurean Butter's dairy expertise with Solina's broader range of culinary and beverage solutions.
Anthony Francheterre, CEO of Solina, expressed that Epicurean aligns with Solina's values of entrepreneurship, customer focus, and innovation. The combined entity aims to support product development across retail, foodservice, and food manufacturing sectors with an expanded range of customized solutions.
Epicurean Butter will continue operations from its Denver facility, which will serve as Solina USA's center of excellence for butter and dairy innovation. CEO Stephen Owens and the current leadership team will remain with the company, ensuring continuity in management.
This acquisition is part of Solina's broader strategy to increase its footprint in North America and expand its capabilities in value-added ingredient solutions. Globally, Solina employs over 5,000 people across more than 50 production sites, operating R&D centers in 21 countries and serving customers in over 75 markets.
