smaXtec, renowned for its advanced dairy cow health monitoring systems, has made significant leadership changes to support its ongoing global expansion. Charlie Sheppy has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, succeeding Stefan Scherer. Sheppy brings over 25 years of experience in the animal nutrition and livestock technology sectors, having previously served with MSD Animal Health.

Stefan Scherer, who has been instrumental in smaXtec's growth since 2020, will transition to a Non-Executive Director role on the company's Board. This move is part of a planned transition as the company continues its momentum in the United States, Europe, and New Zealand, reporting another year of substantial double-digit growth in 2025.

Hein Schumacher, formerly the CEO of Unilever and FrieslandCampina, has also joined the smaXtec Board as a Non-Executive Director. These appointments are aimed at bolstering smaXtec's management team with expertise in finance, strategy, and dairy technology. According to Marta Szczerba, a Board Member, and Director at KKR's Tech Growth team, the addition of Sheppy and Schumacher reflects the company's strong position and growth trajectory in the dairy sector.

smaXtec's technology uses patented sensors and AI-driven analytics to provide continuous in-cow data, aiding in herd health optimization, productivity, and sustainability. The company's solutions focus on early health detection and improved reproductive management. As the dairy industry undergoes significant technological advancements, smaXtec is uniquely positioned to impact animal wellbeing and farm efficiency positively.

Both Sheppy and Scherer expressed enthusiasm for the future of smaXtec, with Sheppy highlighting the company's potential to influence the ongoing technological revolution in livestock farming. Scherer emphasized his commitment to supporting the company's strategic growth from his new position on the Board.
