SIG Expands Its Range of Aseptic Carton Filling Equipment
The SIG Neo XSlim 32 Aseptic is designed to produce up to 32,000 single-serve SIG XSlimBloc cartons per hour. A single machine can handle nine different pack sizes ranging from 80 to 200 ml.
The SIG Neo Midi 15 Aseptic is intended for family-size packaging. The machine can fill up to 15,000 SIG MidiBloc or SIG MidiFit cartons per hour. Three pack sizes ranging from 500 ml to 1 litre are available for each format.
According to the manufacturer, the new equipment can increase both total output and production capacity per square metre of floor space by approximately one-third. Switching between formats and pack sizes takes less than 15 minutes and does not require machine parts to be replaced. This can reduce downtime during product changeovers and make it easier to produce different pack sizes on a single line.
The stated packaging material waste rate is below 0.5%. The machines are also equipped with a digital control system that provides operators with data on equipment operation and performance.
To maintain aseptic conditions, the machines use a system that controls the flow of sterile air during bottom sealing and pre-folding of the packaging. According to SIG, the technology can remove up to 95% of airborne particles.
“Many food and beverage manufacturers have reached the space limits of their existing production facilities. The new machines make it possible to increase capacity without requiring additional production space,” said Christoph Wegener, Chief Markets Officer at SIG.
SIG specializes in packaging systems, including aseptic cartons, bag-in-box solutions, and spouted pouches. The company was founded in 1853 and is headquartered in Neuhausen, Switzerland. SIG operates in more than 100 countries. In 2025, the company produced 54 billion packs and generated revenue of EUR 3.2 billion.
