In April 2025, the price of sheep milk in Spain dropped by more than 21%, with significant production decreases also reported.

The Spanish sheep milk market is undergoing a notable decline, with prices falling dramatically in April 2025. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the price of sheep milk decreased by more than 21%, dropping from 1.523 euros per liter in April 2024 to 1.202 euros in April 2025. The decline was even steeper in regions such as Castilla-La Mancha and Castilla y León, which recorded price reductions of 29.5% and 25.5%, respectively. The ministry also reported a reduction in sheep milk production. In April 2025, Spain produced 50.61 million liters, a drop of 6.13% from the previous year's 53.9 million liters.

Castilla y León and Castilla-La Mancha also faced decreases in production by 3.7% and 2.4%, respectively. On a wider scale, the accumulated milk deliveries from January to April 2025 showed a 3.3% reduction, highlighting an ongoing declining trend in the sheep milk industry. However, the region of Castilla-La Mancha showed better resilience with only a slight drop of 0.8%, compared to a national average reduction of 4.3%. Meanwhile, the price paid to farmers per hectograde also decreased by 20.81% nationwide, with farmers in Castilla-La Mancha and Castilla y León seeing declines of 29.6% and 24.7%, respectively.
