Sharjah Launches the World's Largest A2A2 Dairy Farm in Mleiha

Sharjah has inaugurated the Mleiha Dairy Farm and Factory, a state-of-the-art dairy production complex aiming to boost the emirate's food security and public health. Officially opened by Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the facility spans 20,000 square meters and is designed to produce and process milk using modern technology.

The farm has achieved a Guinness World Record for being the largest A2A2 cattle farm globally, with over 6,400 cows. These cows produce milk containing only the A2 beta-casein protein, which is marketed for better digestion compared to milk with A1 proteins.

At the launch, Sheikh Dr. Sultan emphasized that the project, a 65-year dream, prioritizes community health and self-sufficiency over profit. It features milking parlors, packaging lines for dairy products, and eco-friendly systems meeting international sustainability standards.

The facility supports a projected daily milk output of about 100,000 liters, strengthening local dairy value chains and reducing import reliance. It also aims to develop regional agricultural expertise with educational support in agriculture and veterinary sciences.

Sharjah's broader food strategy includes projects in olive cultivation, poultry, and vegetable production, aligning with sustainable food systems. The Mleiha initiative positions the emirate as a key player in premium A2 milk production for domestic and export markets.
