Schärdinger Among the Winners of the World Championship Cheese Contest 2026
In the raclette cheese category, Schärdinger Raclette took second place. Schärdinger Edam Ball, which is matured in a wax coating, received third place in the Edam cheese category.
The company’s products were also recognized in the blue cheese category. Schärdinger Österkron took third place, while Schärdinger Dolce Bianca finished fourth.
“These results at an international competition are a recognition of the quality of our products and confirm the competitiveness of the Austrian cheese industry,” said the company’s Managing Director Josef Braunshofer.
The World Championship Cheese Contest is held every two years. In 2026, the competition took place for the 36th time. The submitted products are evaluated by an international panel of experts based on sensory and technical criteria.
