Saputo Dairy Australia Funds Timboon Recreation Court Upgrade

Saputo Dairy Australia (SDA) has committed $10,000 to the redevelopment of the multi-purpose courts at the Timboon Recreation Reserve. This project is in collaboration with the Timboon Demons Football Netball Club (TDFNC) and the Timboon Recreation Reserve Committee. The upgraded facility now includes four full-size tennis courts, two full-size netball courts, and two half-width netball courts for training and warm-ups.

The courts have been upgraded to meet the standards set by Netball Australia and Tennis Australia. They will be used by the Timboon Demons Netball Club during the winter months and the Timboon Tennis Association in the summer. Additionally, the courts remain freely accessible to the public.

Mick Hunt, President of the Timboon Demons Football Netball Club, stated that the upgrade would provide enduring benefits for the community by improving safety, supporting participation at all levels, and allowing the club to expand its competitions and introduce new summer formats.

Michael Schulz, Chairman of the Timboon Recreation Reserve, expressed gratitude for Saputo's contribution, highlighting that the redevelopment creates a safe, inclusive space for community activities. He mentioned that the support from Saputo ensures the facility will continue to serve the community well into the future.

Saputo's funding was provided through its Legacy Program, which supports initiatives promoting active living and healthy eating in regional communities. Jamie Harry, SDA’s Regional Manager West, emphasized the importance of supporting local facilities, noting that many Saputo employees, suppliers, and AG Warehouse customers live locally and use these facilities.

Saputo invests approximately one percent of its pre-tax profits annually in community programs and organizations that encourage healthy, active lifestyles. More information about Saputo’s community funding programs is available on their website.

The Timboon Recreation Reserve plays a vital role in the community by hosting a variety of sporting and social activities. It is home to local netball, tennis, football, and cricket clubs and features well-maintained courts and open spaces used year-round.
