Saputo Cheese has inaugurated a new 311,000-square-foot cold storage distribution facility in Caledonia, Wisconsin, aiming to enhance its distribution network and create approximately 160 jobs over three years.

Saputo Cheese USA Inc., a subsidiary of Montreal-based Saputo Inc., has expanded its operations in southeastern Wisconsin with the opening of a 311,000-square-foot cold storage distribution facility in Caledonia. Located approximately 15 miles south of Milwaukee, the facility is strategically positioned to bolster Saputo's distribution network and support its growth in the competitive agribusiness sector. This development is expected to create about 160 jobs over the next three years, including skilled trades, logistics, and management roles. The project was realized through collaboration with Milwaukee-based Zilber Property Group and other local partners, highlighting the collective effort behind the expansion. Despite the recent closure of its Lancaster cheese plant, which resulted in 98 job losses, this move signals Saputo's commitment to strengthening its supply chain. "The opening of the Caledonia facility underscores our ongoing commitment to Wisconsin and marks a key step in strengthening our supply chain across the United States," stated Darren Richter, Saputo's senior vice president.
