SalzburgMilch Introduces Innovative Packaging for Children's Beverages

SalzburgMilch, a leading dairy company in Austria, has initiated a significant step in packaging innovation by launching its popular children's beverages, Alex (chocolate milk) and Lisa (vanilla milk), in the newly developed SIG DomeMini packaging. This launch represents the first time a European company has commercially utilized the SIG DomeMini 12 aseptic filling line.

The SIG DomeMini packaging is designed to offer the combined benefits of a carton and a bottle, providing convenience for on-the-go consumption. The package features a large, centrally positioned closure that is easy to open, reseal, and store, making it particularly user-friendly.

The aseptic filling line used by SalzburgMilch is capable of filling 12,000 packages per hour, accommodating seven different volume sizes ranging from 180ml to 350ml. A significant advantage of this system is its flexibility, allowing for a volume change within just 15 minutes.

In 2025, SalzburgMilch processed a total of 344 million kilograms of milk, with a substantial portion — over 203 million kilograms — being 'special milk' varieties such as organic, hay, or organic hay milk. This highlights the company's commitment to diverse and specialized dairy products.

Aside from its branded products, SalzburgMilch also produces various private labels and acts as a contract filler for a range of dairy and plant-based products. This diversification underscores its prominent role in the dairy industry.

Future plans include the development and launch of additional on-the-go products in the coming months, taking advantage of the new packaging technology.
