The Dairy Food Group, headquartered in Zonhoven, Belgium, is renowned for its extensive range of dairy products, supplying both branded manufacturers and retailers under private labels.

The acquisition encompasses several of The Dairy Food Group’s specialized businesses, including the daily milk collection group BMC, dessert experts Eurodesserts, and fromage frais to milk drinks supplier Limelco. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Royal A-ware, which has operations in the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, and the US, indicated that the transaction will be reviewed by the European Commission and is expected to be finalized by the end of the year. This acquisition aligns with Royal A-ware’s strategic vision to enhance its dairy operations in Belgium, reinforcing its standing in what the company regards as a secondary domestic market.

Jan Anker, CEO of Royal A-ware, expressed optimism about the acquisition: "This merger will not only optimize our milk processing capabilities in Belgium but also streamline our supply chains and broaden our product offerings to customers."

The Dairy Food Group, which collaborates with 260 farmers daily, views the sale as an opportunity to accelerate its growth and job creation. Nathalie Nijs, CEO of the group, highlighted the cultural and operational synergies between the two entities, noting, "Joining forces with Royal A-ware will expedite our sustainability initiatives and continue our shared values as family-oriented businesses."
