The growth of commodity milk in Russia amounted to 13.5 million tons in the first half of 2025

According to preliminary estimates by the Milknews Analytical Center, the production of commodity milk in Russia increased by 2% in January-June 2025 compared to the same period last year, reaching 13.5 million tons.

The main increase was noted in the segment of agricultural organizations, where production increased by 3.7%, amounting to 10.6 million tons. The largest contribution to this growth was made by the Republic of Tatarstan (+62 thousand tons), Penza region (+34 thousand tons), Kirov region (+25 thousand tons) and the Republic of Udmurtia (+33 thousand tons).
At the same time, a reduction in production was observed in several regions. Among them are the Irkutsk (-4 thousand tons), Kursk (-9 thousand tons), Tyumen (-5 thousand tons) and Novosibirsk (-4 thousand tons) regions, as well as Kabardino-Balkaria (-6 thousand tons).
The overall gross milk production in all categories of farms also showed positive dynamics, increasing by 0.3% compared to the level of the first half of 2024, amounting to 16.9 million tons.
At the same time, a reduction in production was observed in several regions. Among them are the Irkutsk (-4 thousand tons), Kursk (-9 thousand tons), Tyumen (-5 thousand tons) and Novosibirsk (-4 thousand tons) regions, as well as Kabardino-Balkaria (-6 thousand tons).
