Roskachestvo Proposes BRICS to Recognize "Green" Product Certificates

Roskachestvo has proposed the formation of a common mechanism for BRICS countries to recognize certificates for organic and "green" products. This was stated in the material of the non-profit organization.

The initiative was presented by Alexander Chumak, Deputy Head of Roskachestvo, at the BRICS Business Council platform. The proposal concerns the mutual recognition of documents confirming compliance with the requirements for organic and "green" goods.

Currently, producers undergo the certification process again when entering foreign markets. Roskachestvo noted that this practice affects the duration and cost of deliveries.

BRICS countries account for 42% of the world's arable land. The union also accounts for about 42% of global grain production.

The Russian delegation shared at the meeting the experience of creating infrastructure for the development of organic and "green" products. Representatives from Russia also reported on the results of cooperation with foreign colleagues on the issue of certificate recognition.
