Rob Anderson has been elected as the new president of Jersey Australia, succeeding Geoff Akers. Anderson, who is a fourth-generation stud breeder, manages the Kings Ville Jersey stud in Gippsland, Victoria. His family has increased their active milking lines from 220 to 280 cows over the past five years, showing confidence in the dairy sector's economics.

With over four decades of involvement with the Jersey breed, Anderson is poised to guide the organization with his expertise in pedigree and cow-family tracking. He expressed optimism about the positioning of Jersey genetics in modern dairy configurations, emphasizing the breed's feed efficiency and milk-solid production.

Despite his positive outlook, Anderson acknowledged challenges in the Australian dairy landscape, including volatile international trade cycles and rising input costs such as fertilizer and fuel. He emphasized the need for Jersey Australia to support its members through these challenges.
