Profitability of Dairy Farming in Russia Reaches 28.6% — Highest in Recent Years
According to him, the profitability level of dairy farming last year amounted to 28.6% excluding subsidies, which is the highest figure in recent years. "We achieved this result by combining efforts. We see significant activity in the industry: producers, banks, experts — there is a constant exchange of information. Large projects and proposals for further increasing dairy production are emerging," Nekrasov noted.
He emphasized that the industry shows consistently positive dynamics. In 2025, 26 large investment projects are planned, 12 of which have already been launched. Once fully operational, these complexes will be able to produce a total of about 225 thousand tons of milk per year.
Preferential loans remain a key tool for stimulating investments. In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture is expanding support measures aimed at developing genomic selection in pedigree livestock. The new program provides for the reimbursement of part of the costs of conducting molecular-genetic research, which will allow the introduction of methods of genomic selection in cattle and the formation of a database of phenotypic and genotypic data in the Federal State Information System for Livestock Breeding.
