Record Milk Production in Uruguay: January 2025 Sets New Benchmark

The month of January 2025 has marked a historic moment for Uruguay's dairy industry, achieving the highest milk production on record. A total of 164.68 million liters of milk were delivered to industrial plants, setting a new benchmark for the sector, as reported by the National Milk Institute (INALE).
This achievement represents a 2% increase compared to January of the previous year, 2024. Over a span of the last twelve months, there was a total of 2,048.97 million liters sent to plants, slightly less than the 2,117.17 million liters recorded in the preceding period.
Magela Santoro, an advisor to dairy producers, emphasized the exceptional conditions, stating, "We are experiencing a very good year at the technical production level." The abundant grass production has played a significant role, contributing to the surge in milk production.
