Pure Dairy Herds Makes $250 Million Investment in Ogun State

Pure Dairy Herds has committed a $250 million investment to build a significant dairy farm in Ogun State, Nigeria. The announcement was made by the company's representative, Farouk Gumel, following a meeting with Governor Dapo Abiodun at the Governor’s Office in Abeokuta.

The dairy farm is set to be developed in partnership with international experts, with the goal of increasing local milk production and strengthening Nigeria’s agricultural value chain. The company has finalized the acquisition of land for the project in Ogun West Senatorial District, which marks the beginning of development activities.

Gumel highlighted several factors that influenced the decision to invest in Ogun State, including its investor-friendly policies and the ongoing infrastructure development. He expressed appreciation for the host communities, noting their hospitality and cooperation. According to Gumel, "Ogun is the best. We already have a few operations in Ogun State, and this project is a testament to how well we have been received and treated."

The project is expected to create jobs and stimulate economic activities in Ogun West. Preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony are underway, with the event anticipated to occur within the next two to three weeks.

Gumel also mentioned that the initial investment of $250 million may increase as the project expands. The choice of Ogun State was further reinforced by the critical infrastructure projects currently taking place in the area, which hold great promise for the future of the dairy farm.
