Pure Dairy Opens Advanced Manufacturing Plant in Victoria for Asian Markets
Pure Dairy, an Australian dairy company, has officially opened a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Dandenong South, Victoria. The 13,000-square-metre facility, which cost $65 million, was inaugurated in front of over 200 guests, including state and local government representatives.
This new plant is expected to significantly enhance Pure Dairy’s production capabilities, focusing on specialized dairy powders and UHT milk for export, particularly to Asian markets.
Adrian Josephson, founder and chairman of Pure Dairy, noted that the plant's establishment was the result of nearly a decade of planning. During the opening, he remarked, “This new facility has been a vision of mine for nearly a decade.”
The opening marks the largest private investment in the Australian dairy sector in 40 years, according to Colin Brooks, Minister for Industry and Advanced Manufacturing. Brooks emphasized the economic impact, stating, “This project will generate some $89 million of economic activity for this region.”
The plant integrates modern cheese manufacturing and processing technologies and serves as the headquarters for Pure Dairy's trade, foodservice, and retail operations.
