Milk production at agricultural enterprises in Russia’s Saratov region rises 18.4%
Total daily milk production increased by 14%.
Marksovsky district accounted for the largest production volume, at 110,500 tonnes. It also ranks first in daily milk yield per cow, averaging 39.6 kg.
Milk yields per cow also exceed the regional average in five other districts. Daily yields stand at 22.7 kg per cow in Engelssky district and 22.1 kg in Bazarno-Karabulaksky district.
In Novoburassky district, daily milk yield per cow is 20.9 kg. The figure is 19 kg in Kalininsky district and 17.5 kg in Ivanteyevsky district.
The region expects annual raw milk production to increase by at least 33,000 tonnes once investment projects in Marksovsky and Turkovsky districts reach their design capacity. Alexey Molchanov, the region’s deputy agriculture minister responsible for livestock sector development, outlined these expectations.
