Milk production in Russia fell by 1.1% in January–March 2026 compared to the same period last year, totaling 1.532 million tons.

Consumption of drinking milk for January–February amounted to 1.031 million tons, decreasing by 1.3%. Meanwhile, the stockpiles at dairy processing enterprises grew by 13% by the beginning of April, reaching 64.5 thousand tons.

Contrasting with the decrease in milk production, the production of drinking cream showed positive dynamics. In January–March 2026, it increased by 6.8% to 86.3 thousand tons.

Consumption of drinking cream for January–February decreased by 2.2%, to 56.4 thousand tons. The stockpiles of this product grew by 34% by early April, amounting to 10.2 thousand tons.

Overall, the production of whole milk products in Russia increased by 1.1% in the first three months of 2026, reaching 3.05 million tons. Consumption of these products for January–February rose by 0.3%, to 2.05 million tons.
