Ice Cream Production in Kazakhstan Hits Highest Level Since 2000
The main contribution to the total volume was made by two categories — "cream ice cream" and "plombir". Together they account for almost 80% of production. These items, especially plombir, have become key drivers of market growth.
At the same time, external supplies have grown significantly. According to data from January to November 2025, ice cream exports reached 13.6 thousand tons, which is 39% more than the previous record level recorded the year before.
The main sales markets remain the countries of the region: Russia and Kyrgyzstan, as well as Uzbekistan, which holds a smaller share.
Imports of ice cream into Kazakhstan during the same period (January to November) decreased by 6%, to 11.8 thousand tons. Thus, imports were lower than exports, which is a rare and significant signal for the industry.
Almost 90% of imported ice cream comes from two countries — Russia and Kyrgyzstan, meaning that the structure of foreign trade remains highly concentrated.
