Russian regional forecast: Udmurtia's agricultural output to grow 2.9% in 2026

The republic's Ministry of Economy published its socioeconomic development forecast on Friday. In 2025, the value of agricultural output in Udmurtia reached 118 billion rubles, with production growing by 5.8% compared with 2024.

For 2027, the baseline scenario projects output worth 130 billion rubles and production growth of 3.4%. The conservative scenario envisages output worth 129.9 billion rubles and growth of 2.3%. For each of the following two years, 2028 and 2029, the baseline scenario assumes growth of 3.4%. The corresponding figures in the conservative scenario are 2.5% and 2.6%. According to the document, expanding domestic production and increasing exports will support output growth.

For livestock farming in 2027–2029, the production index is forecast to range from 103.8% to 103.9% under the baseline scenario and from 102.6% to 102.8% under the conservative scenario. By 2029, the republic is expected to produce 1.3 million tonnes of milk and 1.3273 billion eggs.

In crop farming, the annual production index for the next three years is forecast at 102.1–102.2% under the baseline scenario. The conservative scenario projects an index of 101.1%. The former assumes the development of new areas of production, while the latter takes into account the possibility of adverse weather.

According to the forecast, the grain harvest will increase to 810,000 tonnes by 2029. The document attributes this growth to higher yields and an expansion of the area under crops. Rapeseed, fibre flax, floriculture, and fruit and berry production are identified as promising areas of crop farming over the medium term.

During 2026, the republic plans to register more than 22,000 hectares of agricultural land in the land cadastre.

This year, agricultural producers in Udmurtia are implementing 106 investment projects with a combined value of 8.6 billion rubles.
