Prime Dairy Surpasses 10,000 Cows in Australia
Prime Dairy, managed by Prime Value Asset Management, has expanded to over 10,000 milking cows, marking its position as one of Australia's leading dairy operations. The company expects to deliver more than 50 million litres of milk and around 4 million kilograms of milk solids this year, supplying to dairy giant Fonterra.

This milestone was reached after strategic investments and expansions, particularly with the acquisition of 11 dairy farms in Circular Head, Tasmania, in 2021. Currently, 85% of their herd is stationed in Tasmania, with the rest in Victoria. Senior investment analyst Harrison Stewart highlighted the transformation of fragmented farms into efficient operations by merging properties and enhancing infrastructure, thereby increasing cost efficiency and productivity. Despite an initial opening price of $8.60 per kilogram of milk solids set by Fonterra, the price rose to $8.90 prior to July, offering some relief in a tough pricing environment.

To handle labor challenges, Prime Dairy employs a proactive approach utilizing visa programs and offering competitive wages and flexible work conditions. This positions the company favorably as an employer in Tasmania, ensuring a reliable workforce.
