In January-August, Butter Production in Kazakhstan Increased by 15%, Fermented Dairy Products by 6.4%

As of January-August 2025, the gross agricultural production in Kazakhstan increased by 3.4% to 3.6 trillion tenge. Livestock production rose by 3.2% to 2.26 trillion tenge, and crop production by 4% to 1.25 trillion tenge, reports Dairynews.today referencing the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In January-August, Butter Production in Kazakhstan Increased by 15%, Fermented Dairy Products by 6.4%

In the span of 8 months, the country produced:

  • 696.2 thousand tons of meat in slaughter weight (+1.9%),

  • 2.63 million tons of milk (+6%),

  • 3.01 billion chicken eggs (+1.2%).

The livestock and poultry numbers also increased: cattle reached 8.6 million heads (+0.2%), the number of horses grew to 4.5 million (+6.3%), camels to 299.8 thousand (+4%), and poultry to 46.9 million heads (+2.8%).

There is significant growth in processing:

  • sugar — +24% (up to 122.8 thousand tons),

  • meat preserves — +29.7% (5.8 thousand tons),

  • vegetable oil — +27% (595.0 thousand tons),

  • sausage products — +8.8% (51.2 thousand tons),

  • butter — +15% (25.2 thousand tons),

  • fermented dairy products — +6.4% (171.5 thousand tons).

Overall, food production increased by 10.1% (2.48 trillion tenge), and beverages by 7.1% (813.1 billion tenge).

Investment activity in the agro-industrial complex continues to grow. From January to July 2025, investments in fixed assets of agriculture amounted to 516.2 billion tenge (+27% compared to the same period in 2024). Investments in food production reached 119.2 billion tenge (+42.8%).
