Piracanjuba takes over Complem dairy plant in Brazil under lease agreement
Piracanjuba expects the Morrinhos facility to process approximately 300,000 litres of milk daily. The factory will manufacture products under the Piracanjuba name as well as produce and distribute the Compleite range. According to the company, Compleite will retain its presence in the markets it already serves, while the arrangement will also expand manufacturing capacity for Piracanjuba’s own products.
The group plans to modernise the factory, upgrade equipment and increase its milk-processing capacity. Approximately 200 employees from the dairy operation joined Piracanjuba’s workforce during the transition. The company said its planned investment could increase the volume of milk processed at the site, in line with its business-expansion plans.
Complem, the Cooperativa Mista dos Produtores de Leite de Morrinhos, will no longer operate the dairy factory directly. It will continue its other activities, including collecting and marketing members’ milk, its grain and animal-nutrition businesses, agricultural supply shops and supermarkets. The lease therefore leaves the cooperative responsible for these operations alongside its continuing role in supplying milk for industrial processing.
The cooperative will retain responsibility for relations with producers, collection of raw milk and payments to its members. Milk collected through this arrangement will be delivered to Piracanjuba for processing. The agreement also provides for joint commercial activity in Goiás, including opportunities to offer agricultural inputs to dairy farmers linked to Piracanjuba.
The two organisations will continue to occupy the same industrial complex in Morrinhos. Alongside the dairy factory, the site houses a grain warehouse and an animal-nutrition factory. Management of the shared areas will be coordinated between the companies, while Complem maintains its activities at the complex and Piracanjuba operates the dairy facility.
In the company’s statement, Luiz Claudio Lorenzo, Piracanjuba’s president, described the agreement as “another step in the growth strategy”. He said it would expand industrial capacity and create new opportunities for the dairy supply chain.
Complem was established in 1978 and, according to the cooperative, recorded revenue exceeding R$1 billion in 2025. Piracanjuba has approximately 5,000 employees across its business. In addition to its 13 factories, the group operates 16 milk-cooling stations and has processing capacity of more than 7 million litres a day.
