PepsiCo plans to become a carbon neutral company by 2040

According to Olga Ivanova, it is the share of agriculture (production of raw materials for food) that accounts for the bulk of CO2 emissions in the total emissions of large manufacturing companies - 38%. For comparison, the share of transportation is about 10%.
To reduce overall emissions, PepsiCo plans to introduce regenerative practices by 2030 on 3 million hectares of agricultural land that supplies the company's raw materials. This implies the use of “green” fertilizers, proper crop rotation, digitalization of all processes, and the construction of modern vegetable storage facilities to reduce crop losses.
PepsiCo's strategy is to become a carbon neutral company by 2040. Among other things, for this purpose the company plans to develop alternative energy to power its own production: solar panels, wind generators, bioreactors. By the way, agricultural waste will be used to operate the bioreactors, which is also an element of regenerative agricultural production.
PepsiCo's strategy for developing responsible consumption, as well as reducing the content of sugar, salt, and fat in food products, should also help achieve carbon neutrality.
