In the Almaty region, international companies plan to launch five projects worth $815 million. The head of the region, Marat Sultangaziev, spoke about this. According to him, PepsiCo (USA) can establish production of Lay's chips in the region.

With the participation of a company from Russia, warehouses of category A will appear.

Another investor from the Russian Federation intends to open a logistics complex.

The head of the region noted that through the implementation of the five projects listed, the Almaty region will receive $815 million from international companies.

It is also noted that another industrial zone “Zhetygen” on 550 hectares can be created near Almaty. This project will reduce the load on transport infrastructure through the construction of logistics centers and cargo warehouses. According to Sultangaziev, construction of the Zhetygen – Kazybek bek railway line has already begun.

In addition, to increase cargo transportation with China, the Kalzhat checkpoint is being modernized. It is expected that its capacity will triple – up to 300 cars per day. The head of the region also added that the Chinese side is creating an industrial zone in its region.
