Patrick Carney Appointed as Executive Director of Pennsylvania Dairymen's Association
Patrick Carney has been named the new Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Dairymen's Association, with his appointment taking effect on August 17, 2026. The decision was made following a unanimous vote by the association's board of directors. Carney is set to lead the statewide non-profit organization, which represents Pennsylvania's dairy farm families.
Carney transitions into this role from his position as Vice President of Marketing at the American Dairy Association North East (ADANE). During his tenure there, he managed integrated marketing campaigns and fostered partnerships on behalf of 4,360 dairy farm families in the Northeast region. His expertise in brand strategy and stakeholder engagement is expected to benefit the association's growth initiatives.
In his new capacity, Carney will oversee statewide administrative operations, guide strategic policy, and strengthen agribusiness partnerships. A key part of his responsibilities includes managing the Pennsylvania Farm Show milkshake operations, known for their philanthropic contribution to agricultural scholarships and community food security programs.
Glenn Gorrell, President of the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association Board, welcomed Carney’s appointment, citing his collaborative leadership style and industry knowledge as assets. Carney expressed his honor in accepting the position and his commitment to supporting dairy producers and expanding consumer trust.
Carney succeeds Dave Smith, the outgoing Executive Director, who has been credited with expanding the association's philanthropic programs and brand outreach. Smith voiced his confidence in Carney's ability to drive long-term organizational growth, ensuring a smooth transition as the association gears up for future promotional campaigns and events.
