Oswestry Dairy Closes After 40 Years Due to Severe Debts

An Oswestry dairy, known for delivering milk for over 40 years, has closed after going into liquidation. Hartshorns Dairy, which served the Oswestry area since 1977, ceased operations due to severe financial troubles. The company entered voluntary liquidation with only £8 in its accounts and liabilities amounting to £236,485.

Significant debts include £70,370 owed to employees and £85,103 to trade creditors, along with a debt of £31,522 to HMRC. Despite these liabilities, arrangements are being considered to ensure continuation of milk services by other dairies.
