Oman Air Partners with Mazoon Dairy to Enhance Local Self-Sufficiency

Oman Air has entered a significant partnership with Mazoon Dairy, underlining its commitment to support the local food industry by procuring dairy products such as milk, yoghurt, laban, and cheese from within Oman.

During the signing ceremony, Captain Nasser al Salmi, Chief Operating Officer of Oman Air, expressed pride in supporting Oman’s food industry through this agreement. He highlighted the airline’s dedication to In-Country Value (ICV) by prioritizing locally made products and enhancing domestic supply chains. "This partnership underscores our dedication to procuring locally made products and strengthening domestic suppliers, ensuring that we continue to provide our guests with the highest quality food and beverages sourced from within Oman," he stated.

Ali Al-Buali, CEO of Mazoon Dairy, remarked that the deal is a significant milestone in Mazoon’s growth, expanding its products’ reach globally and aligning with the vision for national economic development. "Today, we offer a diverse range of high-quality products, adhering to the highest industry standards and best practices," he noted, adding that they aim to meet the expectations of Oman Air by delivering premium dairy products onboard.

This initiative is part of Oman Air’s broader strategy to boost ICV by fostering partnerships with local businesses, including small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The airline collaborated with 323 Omani companies, including 44 SMEs, in 2024. Moreover, through its Vendor Development Programme, Oman Air aims to bolster SMEs by improving their capabilities and contractual performance, thus potentially leading to long-term contracts.
