In an impressive demonstration of dairy production efficiency, New Zealand has once again set a new record, with July's milk output reaching 28,042,000 kg of milk solids (MS), a 2.2% increase compared to last year.
NZ Dairy’s Historic Streak: Record Production Rolls On

This marks the third consecutive month of record-breaking milk production, underscoring the country's leadership in the global dairy sector. High farmgate milk payouts have incentivized increased winter milking, despite lower than average pasture growth conditions.

Farmers have strategically turned to supplementary feed inputs, with palm kernel imports rising by 29.7% over a 12-month period, to maintain and boost milk production. This proactive approach is expected to continue driving the momentum, with predictions of a 1.1% increase in August and 1% in September, potentially setting further records.

This case highlights how financial incentives and strategic management can overcome environmental challenges, providing a lesson for the international dairy community in maximizing production capabilities.
