New Technology Helps the Dairy Industry Reduce Losses
Measurement equipment shown at the fair included electromagnetic flow meters, tank-level sensors and conductivity meters for CIP/SIP systems. These circuits monitor the cleaning of production lines, an operational stage linked to food safety requirements.
Packaging was another area targeted by the exhibitors. A machine presented for “pencil” packages, widely used for dairy products, fills the packs directly from reels rather than using pre-made packaging. Rayton Matheus, an engineer at Emil, said the change can reduce packaging-material consumption by as much as 70%, lowering both input costs and environmental impact.
The system uses technology called Squeezer Roller. It removes nearly all air from the package before sealing, cleans the sealing area and cools the product immediately after closure. Matheus said the process produces seal quality of close to 99%. The equipment is designed to rely less on corrective repairs by favouring preventive, scheduled maintenance. It can handle up to 30 packages a minute for 1.8kg products and as many as 40 packages a minute in lighter formats.
Automation of production stages that can restrict throughput formed a third part of the fair’s displays. Taimak presented automatic positioners that continuously feed bottles to filling lines. Their capacities range from 6,000 to 20,000 bottles an hour.
Taimak’s automatic packers produce between 500 and 1,600 bundles an hour. Semiautomatic models produce about 250 bundles an hour. The company also presented a pallet wrapper that applies stretch film automatically after packing, a process intended to support transport and storage operations.
The equipment was designed for dairy plants that undergo frequent cleaning and exposure to chemical agents while operating under regulatory requirements. The machines presented at the fair are predominantly built from 304 stainless steel and comply with Brazil’s NR10 and NR12 safety standards. Jessé Hendges, Taimak’s sales executive, said the mechanical simplicity of the solutions reduces failures, while domestic technical support and available spare parts allow maintenance responses when required.
The solutions were presented at Fispal Tecnologia 2026 by Emil and Taimak. The event displays covered line measurement, packaging production and the automation of bottle feeding, packing and pallet preparation.
