Nestlé Strengthens Collaboration with Dairy Producers in Brazil
Nestlé is focusing on sharing technical knowledge with dairy producers in Brazil to boost milk production, improve quality, and address milk scarcity. The company is participating in the Business and Opportunities Fair held in Manhuaçu, Minas Gerais, to strengthen its ties with the dairy production chain. This initiative includes lectures for farmers and participation in the Dairy Production Chain Show, which runs alongside the business fair.
During a meeting at the Aciam headquarters, Nestlé outlined its plan to offer solutions for enhancing milk quality and production capacity while reducing seasonal shortages. André Farrath, the President of Aciam, highlighted Nestlé's technological capabilities in milk production, herd improvement, processing excellence, and production management, emphasizing the company's longstanding market presence.
The educational sessions aim to improve the economic and technical performance of dairy farms, promote sustainability, and support small producers in remaining active in the dairy sector. Nestlé's participation is also aligned with previous successful initiatives in other regions of Brazil.
Rilder Vieira, the Dairy Region Manager for Nestlé in Brazil, praised Aciam's efforts to promote actions that strengthen the entire dairy production chain. Another key discussion point at the event was the need to expand pasture availability, which Luiz Carlos Lima Rodrigues, regional head of Nestlé, identified as critical for dairy production. He stressed that cows should not have to seek additional feeding grounds, highlighting the importance of proper pasture management.
This involvement reflects Nestlé's strategy of engaging suppliers through knowledge transfer and promoting practices aimed at enhancing production efficiency. Rather than merely acting as a buyer, the company is using the fair to foster improvements that could benefit the entire regional dairy chain.
