Nestlé's Profits Drop by 2.9% in 2025 Amid Economic Uncertainties

The Swiss multinational, Nestlé, a global leader in the food sector, reported net profits of 10,884 million Swiss francs in 2024 (equivalent to 11,500 million euros), marking a 2.9% drop compared to the previous year. This downturn is attributed by company executives to a decrease in consumer demand amid a precarious economic landscape.
Performance Metrics
In 2024, Nestlé's sales amounted to 91,354 million francs (96,700 million euros), witnessing a 1.8% year-on-year decline. Despite the unfavorable macroeconomic conditions, Laurent Freixe, the company's CEO, highlighted the company's solid performance, stating, "In a difficult macroeconomic and consumer context, we achieved strong figures in 2024."
Strategic Moves Amid Challenges
Freixe emphasized the importance of increasing investments and continuing the cost-saving program, aiming to reduce expenses by 2,500 million francs (2,600 million euros) over three years. He noted that Nestlé has already secured savings of 300 million francs (317 million euros) for 2025.
