National Dairy Board Offers $31,000 in Scholarships for Dairy-Focused Students
The National Dairy Promotion and Research Board (NDB) has announced the opening of applications for its annual scholarship program, which totals $31,000 in awards. The program is designed to support undergraduate students with a focus on dairy-related disciplines. Eleven scholarships, each worth $2,500, will be awarded, along with a special $3,500 James H. Loper Jr. Memorial Scholarship.
Eligible applicants are those in their sophomore through senior years for the 2025-2026 academic year, enrolled in programs that emphasize dairy, such as communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, business, economics, nutrition, food science, and agriculture education. The selection criteria include academic achievement, interest in a dairy-related career, and demonstrated leadership, initiative, and integrity.
Applicants must complete a form, submit an official transcript, and write a statement about their career aspirations and related activities. The application deadline is May 15 at 11:59 p.m. CST. More information and applications are available on the Dairy Management Inc. (DMI) website.
DMI, which funds the NDB, is supported by over 24,000 dairy farmers and importers, and manages national programs to boost dairy sales and foster consumer trust. It collaborates with state and regional teams across the U.S. and oversees the National Dairy Council, U.S. Dairy Export Council, and other initiatives.
