Kumys Production in Kazakhstan Increases by 11.8% in January–February
Kumys production in Kazakhstan increased by 11.8% in January–February 2026, reports Bizmedia.kz.
According to the results of the first two months of the current year, kumys production increased by 11.8%. In January–February 2026, 215 tons of kumys were produced, which is 23 tons more compared to the same period in 2025," states the Bureau of National Statistics (BNS) of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms (ASPR) of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the same time, the production of shubat decreased by 22.2%, according to the statisticians. A total of 206 tons of the camel drink were produced, which is 58 tons less than the previous year.
In 2025, kumys production amounted to 1126 tons (a decrease of 4.3% over the year), while shubat production was 1425 tons (an increase of 27.6%), note the statisticians.
