Mother Dairy Investing ₹750 Crore in Dairy and Fruit Processing Plants

In a strategic move to cater to increasing consumer demand, Mother Dairy announces a significant investment of Rs 750 crore towards the establishment of two new processing plants for both dairy and fruits and vegetables.
The renowned milk supplier in Delhi-NCR plans to allocate Rs 650 crore for the construction of two new plants while earmarking an additional Rs 100 crore for expanding existing capacities.
Manish Bandlish, Managing Director of Mother Dairy Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd, highlighted the company's commitment to expanding distribution and enhancing processing capacities across key locations. The investment aims to meet the growing needs of consumers effectively.
One of the major ventures includes a substantial investment of approximately Rs 525 crore in a state-of-the-art dairy plant in Nagpur, Maharashtra. This greenfield facility is set to have a processing capacity of 6 lakh litres of milk per day, with provisions for expansion up to 10 lakh litres per day, catering primarily to the central and southern regions.
Furthermore, Mother Dairy plans to establish a new fruit processing plant in Karnataka under its Safal brand, with an investment exceeding Rs 125 crore. These strategic initiatives are expected to be completed within a two-year timeframe, bolstering the company's foothold in the market.
In addition to the establishment of new plants, Mother Dairy is committed to strengthening capacities in existing facilities with an investment of around Rs 100 crore. Currently, the company operates nine company-owned processing plants with a combined milk processing capacity exceeding 50 lakh litres per day, in addition to processing undertaken at third-party facilities.
