Mironov proposes guaranteed supermarket shelf space for local producers

Under Mironov's proposal, products filling this share of the assortment would have to be supplied to retail chains directly by producers.

The politician proposed applying a similar principle to subsidies for preferential agricultural loans: small farms should be guaranteed a share of this support.

Mironov also advocated a package of measures to protect farmers. He said it should ensure that farms can sell their products and reach end consumers.

He identified affordable lending, subsidies and protection for farmers against the monopoly power of agricultural holding companies as other elements of the programme.

Mironov noted that the proposals outlined represent a small part of the party's programme, which it plans to present to the Ministry of Agriculture.
