This adjustment is aimed at benefiting dairy farmers and supporting the regional dairy industry during the festive period.

According to TRCMPU chairperson Mani Vishwanath, of the ₹9 increase, ₹7 will be directly paid to dairy societies, while the remaining ₹2 will be allocated as additional share capital for the regional unions. Out of the ₹7 allocated to dairy societies, ₹5 will be passed on to dairy farmers as an incentive, and ₹2 will be used to cover handling expenses.

This incentive scheme is tied to the volume of milk supplied by the societies in July 2024, ensuring that the benefits are proportionate to their contributions.

The financial impact of this incentive on TRCMPU is substantial, with an estimated additional expenditure of approximately ₹6.40 crore. This follows previous disbursements by TRCMPU, which included ₹11.78 crore in the 2023-24 financial year and ₹1.37 crore so far in 2024-25, all aimed at providing additional milk price benefits from its profits.
