Milkfed Punjab has announced an increase in the purchase price of buffalo and cow milk by ₹10 per kg of fat, effective June 11, 2024. The new prices set buffalo milk at ₹820 per kg of fat, up from ₹810, and cow milk at ₹780 per kg of fat, up from ₹770.
Surjit Singh Bhadour, General Manager of Milkfed’s Ludhiana plant, stated that the decision reflects rising production costs for dairy farmers. "The soaring temperatures have impacted milk production, leading to higher costs for farmers," Bhadour explained.
Milkfed's adjustment aims to support farmers facing increased expenses during the current season, ensuring continued milk supply amidst challenging climatic conditions.
