Mexican Firm MIYM Acquires Two Argentine Dairy Companies
The Mexican company Mexicana de Industrias y Marcas (MIYM) has successfully acquired two Argentine dairy companies, Lácteos Karina and Lácteos Aurora. This deal is seen as an initial step for MIYM's entrance into the Argentine market. Lácteos Karina is based in Santa Fe, while Lácteos Aurora is located in the Buenos Aires province.
The acquisition process began last year, culminating in MIYM's discreet entry into the Argentine dairy sector. The transaction aims to enhance the presence of these brands not only in the local market but also in the broader Mercosur region, Chile, and Colombia. A key strategy involves leveraging the counter-cyclical production cycles between Mexico and Argentina to ensure a consistent supply of dairy products throughout the year.
MIYM, established in 2007 in Puebla, Mexico, is a leading producer and packager of milk and dairy products. The company is known for its advanced technology and significant growth within the food sector. Among its popular brands are Delité, Tivoli, Gotitas, Bébele, La Flor de Xalapa, La Flor de México, and Vita Fresca.
While immediate commercial developments are not anticipated, milk powder and cheese are expected to be the primary focuses of MIYM's business in Argentina. The company also plans to develop new products in the future.
The acquisition reflects MIYM's strategy to expand its market reach and strengthen its product offerings across Latin America.
