Meat and dairy product manufacturing sales volumes increased by $253 million, marking a 3.1 percent rise in the December 2024 quarter compared to the previous quarter. According to Stats NZ, these volumes are adjusted for price and seasonal effects. Notably, increased meat exports played a significant role in this growth, complemented by higher meat and milk prices.

"Increased meat exports contributed to the rise in the volume of sales for the meat and dairy product manufacturing industry," economic indicators spokesperson Michelle Feyen said. "This also coincided with higher meat and milk prices."
