Mandatory Conciliation Declared in Saputo Labor Dispute: Negotiations in Progress

Union Protest Halts Operations at Saputo Plant
On Monday morning, the Saputo plant in Rafaela experienced a complete shutdown of milk reception and production activities due to a labor dispute initiated by the Asociación de Trabajadores Lácteos de la República Argentina (ATILRA). The protest was triggered by the dismissal of a long-time employee and demands for the permanent hiring of contracted workers.
Mandatory Conciliation Called by Provincial Labor Ministry
The conflict, which paralyzed the plant and disrupted the daily intake of approximately 90 milk trucks, led the company to seek intervention from the provincial labor ministry. In response, the ministry issued a mandatory conciliation order, temporarily resolving the shutdown and providing a 15-day pause for negotiations. A meeting is scheduled on Tuesday at the Rafaela Ministry of Labor office to mediate between the involved parties.
